Monica Wright Rogers is a decorated basketball executive, former WNBA champion, and accomplished coach, currently serving as the inaugural General Manager for the Toronto Tempo, the WNBA's 14th franchise. A 2024 Virginia Sports Hall of Fame inductee and all-time leading scorer for the University of Virginia (2,540 points), she was selected second overall in the 2010 WNBA Draft by the Minnesota Lynx, winning two WNBA titles in 2011 and 2013. Following a seven-year professional playing career cut short by injury, Wright Rogers transitioned into front-office roles, including assistant coach at UVA and Liberty University, and as the Elite Basketball Women's Operations Lead in the NBA league office. Prior to leading the Tempo, she served as the Assistant General Manager for the Phoenix Mercury, where she was recognized for her expertise in talent evaluation and as a key connector between coaching, scouting, and business operations.
